The Swiss startup and B2B matchmaker for the internationalization of SMEs, Novertur, is selected to participate in the famous Blackbox Connect program occurring in Palo Alto this summer. Blackbox Connect gives a unique opportunity to 16 born-global and non-US startups (selected among 400 candidates) to access resources of the Silicon Valley and scale globally during a two-week immersion program. These hand-picked startups will confront their ideas during workshops and connect with a network of entrepreneurs, investors and experts from the Silicon Valley. Novertur is the first Swiss startup taking part in Blackbox Connect, powered by Google for Entrepreneurs.
Blackbox: A Bridge to the Silicon Valley for Born-Global Startups
In the Internet startup universe, there is one Mecca: The Silicon Valley. However, connecting to a relevant network there and taking advantage of this technology cluster requires an adapted relay. This is the role of Blackbox Connect. Founded by Fadi Bishara, this startup accelerator aims to link foreign high-growth potential companies with the Silicon Valley network. During two weeks, in the Blackbox Mansion of Palo Alto, 16 hand-picked startups have the opportunity to confront their ideas, present them and discuss them with key influencers of the Silicon Valley including entrepreneurs, investors and experts. Thanks to the recent support of Google for Entrepreneurs, Blackbox also got closer to Google Ventures and enables the specially selected enterprises to get in contact more easily with the Internet giant, a unique occasion.
Novertur: First Swiss Startup Taking Part in Blackbox Connect
Novertur is one of the chosen startups this summer and the unique and first Swiss representative participating in the program. The Lausanne-based startup will join 15 other companies coming from Germany, France, Singapore, Denmark, Chile, Argentina, or Egypt. The Swiss startup has the clear intention to take full advantage of this participation with the presence of two of the co-founders, Florent Schlaeppi and Luca Salzano. As Florent, CEO of Novertur, explains: “Participating in Blackbox Connect is a huge opportunity for Novertur to get closer to the Silicon Valley. We are convinced that our unique business matching technology which is rooted in the big data and social web universe can generate a strong interest towards the US Internet business network”.
Joining Blackbox Connect offers also the possibility to discuss business ideas with other entrepreneurs of the world, while benefiting from the knowledge of Silicon Valley experts. “There is nothing better than presenting ideas to other entrepreneurs, in particular when they are experienced. As we take part in Blackbox Connect we obviously hope to seduce the experts on-site, but we also expect from them some kind of guidance in order to develop our ideas and go further than what we could have imagined.” says Luca, CMO of Novertur.
The two Swiss entrepreneurs are eager to board for California and to join this program which will start as of next Monday, July the 14th, 2014!
